How we train and hire taskers

We train you for AI tasking, give you your own account to manage, and offer the opportunity to work full time with Annota.

Introduction

What is AI tasking?

AI tasking is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. While models learn from vast amounts of data, they still depend on people to evaluate outputs, label content, rank responses, and provide the nuanced judgment that algorithms cannot replicate on their own.

AI taskers — also called annotators or trainers — review prompts and responses, assess quality and safety, and help shape how AI systems behave in the real world. This work is essential: without human feedback, models struggle to improve, remain accurate, or align with the standards companies and users expect.

Annota exists to train AI taskers and bring them onto our team. We teach the practical skills the work demands — then, when you're ready, we give you your own account to manage and a path to full-time work with us.

How pay is calculated

Both Handshake and Outliers accounts average around $17 per hour in earnings. As a tasker, you receive 60% of that — approximately $10 per hour.

Minimum hours — what you can earn

Our minimum work threshold is 6 hours per day. At ~$10/hour, here's what that looks like:

6 hrs × $10/hr ≈ $60 per day
$60/day × 7 days ≈ $420 per week

Top-performing taskers

Our strongest taskers typically work around 10 hours per day. At the same ~$10/hour rate:

10 hrs × $10/hr ≈ $100 per day
$100/day × 7 days ≈ $700 per week
